Happy Holidays | Giving is Awesome announcement

Here we are on Christmas Eve! I can’t believe how fast the year went by! Tonight I am announcing the winners of the 2009 Giving is Awesome Project. Thanks to everyone who took time to not only think of someone but to email in your nomination. It was truly amazing reading all the love and thoughtfulness in your letters. There were so many deserving families out there, it was hard to choose just one. In the end we chose the Brooks family. They were nominated by the Gurney family and I am very much looking forward to getting together with them to capture their family this season and sharing a few of their portraits with you in the near future.

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I hope next year brings great peace and happiness to everyone. Thanks again for a fantastic 2009 and a special thanks to the families that invited me into their lives this year to photograph your newborns, kids and pets!

Football mini session | Issaquah kids photographer

The holidays are crazy this year! I shot this a couple weeks back, but am now just getting caught up with my blog and getting things posted. I had an awesome time with this family. This was the first year of football for this kiddo. The long practices, tough workouts and the many hours he put in this season paid off as they made their way to the finals. I think he’ll play again next year, he’s a great kid with a lot of determination and a big heart and I know he’ll make a great football player. He was truly a ton of fun to have a session with. I look forward to doing more of these mini sport sessions for kids around the area. If you’re interested, please contact me! Thanks again you guys, can’t wait to get together for basketball and baseball season!

Giving is Awesome! | Giving Back – JClegg Photography

It has truly been a wonderful year filled with meeting all sorts of new clients, friends and families. I feel very thankful for what I am able to do day in and day out. I wanted to take this chance during the holidays to give back to the community which has helped me get my business off the ground. A fellow photographer friend of mine turned me on to this project called ‘Giving is Awesome’ and I could not be more excited to be a part of it.

The goal is to reach out to those in the community and provide a gift for someone in need this holiday season. We all know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You probably know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. Perhaps you know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You personally know someone in these circumstances, I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – $1000 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s a beautiful canvas or a gorgeous album, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it’s now within your power to give them a meaningful keepsake this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $250 print credit. What better reason could there possibly be to show some love, people?

The Rules:
* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services.

* The nominee must reside within 30 miles of Issaquah, WA. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include contact information for both your nominee and yourself.

* E-mail your nomination to: jcleggphotography@gmail.com .

* ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE IN BY DECEMBER 18th!

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve – get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season – and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With Love,
Julie

Please feel free to forward this blog post/email to whom you feel would be a good candidate for this very special project!

Not so sleepy newborn | Bellevue newborn photographer

This gorgeous little newborn boy was the sweetest little guy. He slept so sound, all wrapped in his blanket. He was on a great schedule. Never giving his parents any problems. But as soon as we got ready to get some pictures…wide awake! I did manage to get a few while he was starting to snooze, but he never did quite get into that deep sleep I would have expected for a five day old! I think he just wanted to see what we were up to. Here are a few from that day. Thanks so much to mom and dad, he really is an angel and it was such a pleasure being able to photograph your son.

I love this first one, with those curled up little toes! So cute!

Wonderful “T” | Issaquah Childrens Photographer

Spent a quick afternoon at the lake with this fun kiddo who just lost her two front teeth! The weather was cool and there was a bit of a story about getting to the lake, but that’s for another time. :) I had a great time with her and her cousin. We will definitely have to do it again when the weather clears up. Here are a few from that afternoon.

After a long month-plus – finally the two girls are reunited and safe at home with their family! I know her parents could not be more happy to hang out with both of them at home instead of trekking back and forth to the hospital. Here are a few of Baby T and a couple of her and her sister together. SO adorable! Congratulations again you two, you have one fantastic family!

Little Bella

I had an awesome afternoon down at the park with this adorable little girl and her dad. She LOVED the swings and running around the park, and was patient enough to be my little model for a couple of new hats. Thanks Bella and David, I had a wonderful day! Here’s a sneak peek at some of the shots I captured.
