Ava | Mercer Island Dog Photographer

This dog rocks! Sweet as can be and plenty fun and playful. We (me, Ava and her great 2 legged friends) took a long walk through the woods and over to a nice shady spot for lunch. Ava could not have been more well behaved and friendly. You could see the joy in her step when she was let off leash and into the woods, searching around for birds and all things flying. She bounced around the trail like the happiest dog on earth. After we got back, I got a few of her being silly until she finally crashed out for the afternoon.

Does she just not ooze happiness?!

I LOVE this…with her curly haired ears and her freckled nose.

Peepers! | Issaquah Dog Photographer

Last weekend I was down in Olympia with a good friend of mine to shoot a wedding. So while I was down there and had a few free moments I got to play around with Mr. Peepers. He was rescued by the same friend I am shooting this wedding with. Peepers was running around taking inventory of the whole location. Never getting in the way, but always nearby. He had moments of calm and then bursts of crazy energy. It wasn’t the easiest of tasks to get him to hang out for a bit. But he was nice enough to give me a few moments. Peepers, you are a GOOD dog, and I am so glad that Christian and Amber saved you from what could have been.

and this cute swirl of hair on his neck that just wouldn’t lay flat!

Finally tired out…

Starters! | Issaquah Pet Photographer

I finally got the chance to get some pictures of this adorable little furry pup who moved in with his new family a few weeks ago. His name is Starters, but he already has several great new nicknames. Starters was as loveable and fun as they come. The kids around loved playing with him and honestly it gave me a little bit of puppy fever. With his super soft fur and that sweet puppy breath, I could easily see having another around the house! Not sure how our two labs would like that because I hear he has been causing some mischief over at his house chewing on the ears of his big brother. I am so glad he came by to visit before he got so big he didn’t look like a puppy anymore. Thanks J! here are a few from this afternoon…hope you love them as much as I do!

Sneak Peek Baby A! | Bellevue Newborn and Family Photographer

Little baby A was the quietest newborn I have ever met. And not because she was asleep the whole time, because she never did REALLY get into that deep slumber until, I am sure, right after I left. But wide awake and even dozing she was just super silent. I think she was probably watching her big brother who was quite the ham. She is a lucky girl, because he was just the sweetest boy. I am sure they are going to have a great time growing up together.

Here are a few from that day. Thanks so much to the family for having me over, it was truly a pleasure getting to know you guys a little. I’ll have the balance of your images posted in your gallery this week.

Two crazy yellow labs | Issaquah Pet Photographer

It’s been a long time since I got out and took some pictures of my own dogs. Here’s Bailey and Banjo, our two yellow labs that are as silly and fun as they come. Bailey is quite stubborn and has all the attitude the comes along with it. She’s a total sweetheart though and loves to get hugs and kisses and will do just about anything for a piece of cheese. I love this picture of her, we get this look a lot!

Here is Bails focused on a Diet Coke (actually it was something else my husband was holding she was fixated on) even though he was trying to give her a very yummy cheesy treat. Stubborn!

And then there is our youngest boy Banjo. The most lovable and dopiest dog we have ever had. He is crazy smart, but just super silly and never has a mood other than happy. He is also a non stop licker! This is SUCH a hard habit to break him of!

I mean look at that tongue…ridiculous!

This is one of my favorite parts of our labs, where the hair comes together and makes lines in their chests. So beautiful!

Finally…what would a set of lab shots be without all the crazy hair they shed. Even though you think you have brushed it all out, they can find a way to shake out more hair. Thankfully this was outside, but usually it’s somewhere in our room near the bed. Sigh. Bailey and Banjo…we love you!

2009 Clients – Digital File Sale!

I can hardly believe it is already March! I am just now getting caught up from 2009. I just started to clean up my hard drive from all of the sessions last year. Digital files can be enormous and they take up a lot of hard drive space. So I have decided to set aside all of the sessions from 2009 and offer up a huge digital file sale.

Digital files are great for scrap booking, Facebook, emailing to friends, printing extra copies for family, and creating all sorts of other projects. The are also a great way to archive your images when you want them in the future. Your child will have changed so much in the next few years. How fun would it be to do a collage from newborn through Pre-K. Not sure where to have that done? Well,
I have a list of reputable consumer labs that are great for printing just about anything you can think of.

So from now until the end of March, ALL clients who had a session in 2009 can purchase all of their digital files from their session for 50% off…a $500 savings!

Files will be burned on a CD and will be mounted in a custom case. You pick the image you want on the CD and the CD case. Delivery can take up to two weeks, but if you need files sooner we can work something out before your CD arrives. Send me an email and I can open up your gallery again.

Where in the world have we gone?

Well we took a little hiatus from updating this blog. We have been swamped this past month or two and are excited to be back in 2010 with some great new offerings! One of the first new things this year we are offering is mini-sessions. This is a great way to get some updated photos of your kids, pets or family without the time and expense of a full session. The session fee for a mini-session is $100 and will last about 30 minutes to an hour. You will have your choice of 5-10 images and smaller collections to choose from. Updates to the Investment Page will have more details. *Mini-sessions cannot be used to replace newborn sessions.

We are also expanding our product line to include some custom jewelry, some fun frames, folios, chroma panels and some different types of books. Product shots to come!

Also stay tuned for a huge digital sale for all of our 2009 clients. Digital files are a great way to archive and reorder prints for family members or to share online with friends and family. Next post will detail this great sale if you were a past client!

The last addition for 2010 is for people that are interested in modeling for stock photography. Microstock photography is where photographs are licensed for royalty free use in advertising, publishing, graphic arts, bloggers and anyone else who may need imagery for their projects. With a signed model release, the images that are uploaded to our portfolio can be purchased to meet buyers specific needs. I am an exclusive artist with istockphoto.com and my images have been used in Rachael Ray Magazine, Seattle Magazine, Book Covers, Cable Radio/TV, and many blog and web sites around the world. If you would like to be a model for stock, you must sign an istockphoto model release and in return, the fee for your session will be waived and you will receive 20% off anything additional you would like to purchase. Now that is one great deal!

Giving is Awesome! | Giving Back – JClegg Photography

It has truly been a wonderful year filled with meeting all sorts of new clients, friends and families. I feel very thankful for what I am able to do day in and day out. I wanted to take this chance during the holidays to give back to the community which has helped me get my business off the ground. A fellow photographer friend of mine turned me on to this project called ‘Giving is Awesome’ and I could not be more excited to be a part of it.

The goal is to reach out to those in the community and provide a gift for someone in need this holiday season. We all know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You probably know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season.
